Plus Activewear + TDM Experience

TDM Experience

Last month I was invited to attend a private class at The Dailey Method studio in my area.  The studio was small and cute and we were given special grippy socks to wear on the carpeted floor during the class. Let me say that the class was unlike anything I have ever done before. It was truly a unique experience.

I wore black compression leggings and a long sleeved black compression top that I purchased at Walmart years ago. My outfit was cute and simple and helped “wick” away my sweat which was much needed. The workout was so intense that I was drenched in sweat within minutes. While the movements we made were typically small, it was very fast paced, but the instructor was helpful and explained things as we moved through the different series of moves. We did a combo of standing/squatting moves, floor moves, and moves involving a ballet barre. It lasted about an hour and I am proud to say that I made it through, barely. It was fun, extremely hard, but I felt so energized once it was over. I would definitely return!

Plus Size Activewear

Active wear has come a long way in the last few years and plus size active wear has really been making a grand statement over the last year. Many clothing retailers are now carrying more attractive workout pieces in larger sizes and I am loving every second of it.

I have fallen in love with Old Navy’s activewear section. They have a very large range of colors and patterns and everything is very affordable. In the past 6 months I have purchased over 15 items from ON and I am not ashamed! lol. My latest binge included this cute pink compression capri and sports bra set in a fun geometric pattern ( I also snagged a similar blue set). These particular pieces are from the straight sizes (top xl, bottoms xxl).

They do carry a plus activewear line, but not everything from the straight sizes transfers over. For instance, they sell this bra in plus, but I could not find the pants in this pattern. That would be my only complaint, but they do carry other styles exclusively in plus.

I paired the set with my old faithful Danskin jacket from Walmart and my fave new Adidas cross trainers.

How We Stay Active

We each understand the importance of staying active and eating well. We all love to do different things to keep our bodies in motion!

I personally love working out in the gym, doing walking videos at home, playing dancing games on the Wii for hours,  and using my lunch hour to get in a good 35min- an hour brisk walk!

Aleesa is the queen of fun fitness classes. She loves taking yoga, pole dancing, booty beat, and personal training classes. You can also find her jogging and walking around our neighborhood.

Char loves Youtube and utilizing Xfinity on Demand for her work out needs. She loves kickboxing videos and interval training. One of her favorite Youtube trainers you should check out is Keaira Lashae!
